Oil seals commonly used in automotive and industrial machinery applications, are excellent sealing device for rotary shafts, and provide the dual purposes; retain lubricants (such as oil or grease) and avoid dirt, dust, and other abrasives from working place.
- NBR is a form of synthetic rubber, and generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals (the more Nitrile within the polymer, the higher the resistance to oils but the lower the flexibility of the material).
- NBR’s ability to withstand a range of temperatures from -40 °C to +108 °C makes it be an ideal material for aeronautical applications. Nitrile rubber is more resistant than natural rubber to oils and acids.
